I've added several maintenance applications to my line up, including TechTool Pro, Drive Genius, Onyx, MacPilot and HDCleanup. I don't know what to do about the log in item situation, since it appears that the apps, such as Microsoft Office (Entourage), require that they have a log in at startup. My Logitech MX Revolution mouse, which was having intermittent problems with sluggishness, is still operating normally. The situation is that macOS 10.13 High Sierra formally introduces a new file system called Apple File System (APFS). Blowing dough on current disk utility software is likely to be a total waste. Within a month from now we'll know what's going on, so it's no big wait. I personally suggest holding onto your money before buying or upgrading ANY disk utility application. Instead, I'm reading reports that they're throwing errors when run on 10.13 beta. There is zero indication that any current disk repair and recovery utilities with which I'm acquainted are going to be compatible with macOS 10.13 High Sierra.
